10435NAT Advanced Diploma of Christian Ministry and Theology
Applicants must be actively involved in a Christian church and be able to read and write English to a sufficient standard to work with the supplied course materials (samples of course materials are available for review).
WORK-BASED TRAINING (WBT)
In addition to study time students are required to complete 240 hours of volunteer work within their local church, where they can gain skills and experience in serving others. Experience can be gained serving in a ministry team such as hospitality, music, children or administration. This volunteer work is called “Work-Based Training”.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is a process where students may be granted credit towards a qualification in recognition of their prior skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training. The process requires students to gather evidence of their skills. Fees apply. Ask Hope College for an RPL application form.
All applicants must:
Complete a Student Application Form
Read the Student Handbook, sign the Student Handbook Declaration Slip and return it
Obtain a reference from their Pastor (Pastoral Reference Form is supplied)
Write a short essay giving their reasons for studying this course
Complete a Work-Based Training Plan and Agreement

Assessment tasks include: questions, case scenarios, research, portfolios and workplace competency. Upon successful completion of the course requirements you will be awarded a 10435NAT Advanced Diploma of Christian Ministry and Theology. Participants who exit the course without completing all requirements will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for those units in which they have demonstrated competency.
BIBLE STUDY RESOURCES
To complete this course you will need a Study Bible (e.g. NIV Study Bible, Life Application Study Bible) and access to a Bible Concordance, Bible Dictionary, and Bible Commentary, which can be purchased or accessed via the Internet.
Course fees total $4,000 paid in 4 installments. Each installment of $1,000 is made in full at the start of each term. While Hope College endeavors its best to maintain the current course fees, there is always the potential for them to change during the student’s course.
Training support is provided by Hope College staff via phone, email and/or internet for the duration of the course.
ONGOING EDUCATION OPTIONS
Completion of this course is a prerequisite for entry into the 10436NAT Graduate Certificate in Christian Ministry and Theology.

First Year Full Time: 12 subjects plus 240 hours of Work-Based Training.This is broken down into 60 hours of WBT each Term. There are 3 subjects per Term and 4 Terms per year.
