10744NAT Advanced Diploma of Christian Ministry and Theology – On Campus
This is a two-year course where God comes first and where you can learn in-depth Bible study, high-level communication skills plus leadership training. Bible College training for today’s ministry and leadership.
AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS – ON CAMPUS
This course is designed to equip those who are preparing for mission placement, church planting, ministry in the local church, and continued growth as a disciple of Jesus Christ. Students can expect to graduate from this course with a thorough knowledge of the Bible and valuable practical skills for ministry both formally and informally.
Subjects may Include: James, Prayer Skills, Equip Others for Spiritual Growth, 1 & 2 Timothy, Community Impact, 1-3 John, Develop Leadership Skills, Kingdom Living, Respond to Pastoral Care Issues, Spiritual Warfare, Diving Healing, 1 & 2 Peter plus others
ENTRY CRITERIA 10744NAT Advanced Diploma of Christian Ministry and Theology
Applicants must be at least 18 years old (international students only applicable) and actively involved in a Christian church and have completed a 10743NAT Diploma of Christian Ministry and Theology or equivalent.
WORK-BASED TRAINING (WBT)
In addition to study time students are required to complete 240 hours of volunteer work within their local church. This volunteer work is called WBT- “Work-Based Training”. 10744NAT Advanced Diploma of Christian Ministry and Theology students are expected to minister in some form of a leadership role within their local church or ministry where they are also required to develop others.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is a process where students may be granted credit towards a qualification in recognition of their prior skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training. The process requires students to gather evidence of their skills. Fees apply. Ask Hope College for an RPL application form.
All applicants must:
- Complete the online Student Application Form
- Pay $150 Application Fee
- Download and Read the Student Handbook
- Get your Pastor to complete the online reference form
- Write a short essay giving their reasons for studying this course
- Complete Work-Based Training Agreement and Training Plan
- A Copy of Current Passport (international students only applicable)
Assessment tasks include questions, case scenarios, research, portfolios, and workplace competency. Upon successful completion of the course requirements, you will be awarded a 10744NAT Advanced Diploma in Christian Ministry and Theology. Participants who exit the course without completing all requirements and work-based training hours will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for those units in which they have demonstrated competency.
BIBLE STUDY RESOURCES
To complete this course you will need a Study Bible (eg. NIV Study Bible, Life Application Study Bible) and access to a Bible Concordance, Bible Dictionary and Bible Commentary which can be purchased or accessed via the internet.
Training support is provided by Hope College staff via phone, email and/or internet for the duration of the course.
ONGOING EDUCATION OPTIONS
Completion of this course is a prerequisite for entry into the 10745NAT Graduate Certificate in Christian Ministry and Theology and will provide partial Direct Credit Transfer into a range of other nationally recognized qualifications.
Full time: 24 subjects plus 480 hours work-based training must be completed in 2 year (1 subject per month)
Part-time: 24 subjects plus 480 hours work-based training must be completed in 4 years (1 subject bi-monthly)
